1 MZ-FE Toyota Engines for Sale Remanufactured
The MZ Family of Engines is a Powerful V6 Engine Series
The 183 horsepower 3.0 litre 1MZ-FE 6-cylinder Toyota engine was one of the main ingredients that propelled the Toyota Camry to superstardom in the mid-1990s. That engine powered the Camry until 2006, and the 1994-2003 Japanese domestic market Lexus ES 300 had it under the hood as well. The Avalon used it four years beginning in 1995 and ending in 1999, and it was a big part of the success of the 1997 -2003 Lexus RX300. Even 1998-2003 Sienna’s use it to attract sales, and the 1999-2003 Solara packed the 1MZ-FE engine in its front section, and that added more sizzle to this popular convertible. A TRD supercharger kit was offered by Toyota’s Racing Development Department for the 1997-2000 Camry, and the 1998-2000 Sienna as well as the 1998- 2000 Solara had a supercharger kit. The kit bumped the power to 242 horsepower with 242 ft-lbs of torque.
The 1MZ-FE with the VVT-i is still used in the Sienna, Highlander, Avalon, and Camry. That engine’s output is 210 horsepower @ 5800 rpms, and 222 ft-lbs of torque at 4400 rpms. The early versions of the 1MZ-VVT-i had a cast aluminum intake manifold, a dual throttle body, and exhaust manifolds with EGR block off plates. The later models used an ABS plastic intake manifold, which reduced costs and decreased the weight of the engine. Both versions of the 1MZ-VVT-i may have the drive-by-wire throttle control.
The 3.0 Litre 1MZ-FE is a Noble Competitor in any Version
The MZ series has an all aluminum block as well as aluminum alloy DOHC cylinder heads. The cylinders have a cast iron lining, and it is a closed deck design, which means there’s no open space between the bores.
The engine uses multiport fuel injection, a one piece cast camshaft, four valves per cylinder, and a cast aluminum intake manifold. The beauty of this V6 starts with its weight. Lighter weight parts are used to lower production costs, and decrease the total weight of the engine without sacrificing reliability and drivability The 1MZ-FE is a smooth running, fuel efficient engine that has longevity written in its metal genes. The engine has been phased out in most markets, but it is still a superstar with an impressive history.
