The L37 code had been used on all high-output transverse/front wheel drive Northstars. It’s quite competitive with some of the European high performance luxury cars.

The last engine offered in 2009 and newer models is a 3.9 liter GM V6 engine, sometimes called a GM3900. The uses very modern technology like VCT [variable cam timing] and a more efficient [intake] breathing system for more power, better economy and better comfort.
